Ceat tyres orignate from Mumbai in India, started to manufacture tyres in 1958 they where soon bought out by Pirelli during the 1970\'s. They have an healthy share of about 20% of the light and locla truck market in India. With production plants in India and Sri Lanka they do produce tyres for other vehicles ither than trucks, catering for Cars, Motorbikes, Tractors and avrious Plant machinery.

A relatively young company they pride them selves on always improving their designs and furthering their R & D to create the best tyre possible. They are particularly proud of maintaining thier brand value.

If you don’t know what you’re looking for, look at the diagram below:

Your tyre size is on the sidewall of the tyre, the sidewall of the tyre is the part that you can see when you look at your tyre on your vehicle.

On the sidewall you will see a series of numbers, these numbers are the actual size of your tyre.

If you look at the picture below we have highlighted the Width, Profile, Rim Size, Load Rating & Speed Rating.

A Tyre width

the width of the tyre, measured in millimetres.

B Tyre profile

The height of a tyre sidewall as a precentage of the width.

C Tyre size

The diametre of the wheel's inner rim, measured in inches.

D Speed rating

Indicates the maximum speed for the tyre.
